You can have the wittiest, most useful content on the web, but it does not matter if nobody can see it. Increasing your blog audience is essential to the longevity and profitability of any blog, but you cannot simply magic new visitors out of thin air. You need a concerted strategy on getting new people to your site, which means utilising every out-of-the-box idea you can come up with.

Here are just unconventional ideas on increasing your blog audience and creating a community that will increase organically.

1 – Create (or co-opt) your target community

If you have created a cookery blog, then the most fool proof way of directing visitors to your site is participating in the online cookery community. Find websites, blogs, forums and chat rooms where people who love cookery like to visit, and start networking. There is a whole lot of subtly to the art of networking: do not be that annoying spammer who tries and fails to casually name-drop their blog twenty times over. Instead, make actual friends. Get to know your target audience on a personal level. It takes time, but if you make a name for yourself then people will naturally start checking you out and looking at your own blog. This is a time investment, but it is the best way to get visitors who will keep on coming back.

2 – Bribe some love: free downloads, giveaways and content

Ideally you should be getting visitors because your primary content is awesome, but in the meantime you can always bribe some love for your website. By creating fresh content for downloading such as a short Kindle e-book, graphics or how-to videos, you can encourage people to return to your website (and share it with your friends) because of the material gains.

3 – Going social

Going social isn’t as easy as it sounds, but in general it is easier to get someone to like you on Facebook or follow you on Twitter than it is to make a dedicated website visitor. Trying building a dedicated social network following is tough, but it is a great step to take if you want to get a following for your website. By following the right people and getting them to follow you back, you can share your most SEO friendly content and hopefully get it retweeted or shared to a new audience.

4 – Make the right connections

One high-profile visitor from your particular blogosphere is better than one hundred visitors are not. Getting just one other high-profile blog to notice you can drive an intense amount of traffic to your blog. If you know that a high-profile blogger likes your website, then try arrange a guest post or a shout-out. It’s not what you know, it is who you know.

5 – Get your white-hat on!

Making sure that you are ranking high for the right search terms is visitor gold, so get your white-hat on and make sure your SEO tactics are up to scratch. Make sure your blog is properly optimised and get some organic link-building done. You’ll soon be ranking high and pulling in visitors in no time!

Normally as we learn more and more about SEO, we hear regularly that SEO should be done for Users rather than Search Engines, which is correct but some ways of optimization includes rich media contents. One way to do this is via video. Here I have tried to explain various advantages of using Video optimization for your website in YouTube and other video submission websites.

Videos Can Help In Reducing Website Bounce Rate

With Google updates, Panda and Penguin, we know that the motive of these updates is to increase visibility for sites that Google deems as high quality sites – while decreasing the rank of sites that are deemed low quality. Bounce Rate, as defined by Google is “the percentage of single-page visits (i.e. visits in which the person left your site from the entrance page.) Bounce rate is a measure of visit quality and a high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance (landing) pages aren’t relevant to your visitors.”

Providing an engaging – content rich video on your site can help decrease your bounce rate. It reduces your bounce rate by providing the potential customer or existing client with engaging material that will keep the visitor on the page longer. And as we know, the longer a visitor is on your site the more your bounce rate decreases and the more likely it is that Google will deem the site as being high quality.

Videos Can Be Assets In Increasing Your Website Rank

You are 53 times more likely to rank with a video, versus ranking with text alone. The reason for this variance is that there is still less competition for videos than there is for text content. A video showcased through a YouTube account can further help you reach first page placement because YouTube is the MVP for Google search results; after all Google owns YouTube.

As a matter of fact, around 80% of videos on Google search result pages are from YouTube while the other 20% are from sites such as DailyMotion, Vimeo and Metacafe. Of the Google search result videos, over 80% are informational videos.

Why is that?

People want to know how to do things. EricTheCarGuy, on YouTube does exactly this. He is a mechanic, but he has tons of videos on how to fix various car problems and even how to identify them. Not only is it informative, but he also demonstrates his knowledge thus building his reputation. As a potential client, it aids in building trust and assurance that if you were to take your car into him he would know exactly what to do.

Helps In Generating Video Links

Videos get links. Have you seen the viral Harlem Shake videos? Everyone from corporations to news teams to sports teams have gotten in on this viral video sensation. While a viral video is different from say, a company video, it illustrates the sharing and linking power of videos. If you upload your videos to various video search engines you can increase your exposure. Sites like YouTube – DailyMotion – Vimeo – Metacafe can all aid in increasing your exposure thus increasing your links and link building opportunities.

Give Your Website Social Media Links

There are tons of other sites that you can submit your video to other than just Facebook and Twitter. Sites that you may not even be familiar with. Sites like Reddit, Tumblr, Digg, StumbleUpon and Google+. You can even edit your video down to a clip or teaser and post it with Twitter’s Vine. You can then use the Vine video to push traffic directly to your website so that they can view the entire video. Vine videos are even beginning to have more link power because they are shared so easily and you have to be creative to engage a potential client in 6 seconds. Vine’s streaming power is similar to that of Instagram as well so it gets to a bunch of viewers. By creating videos on these various social media outlets you are also increasing the potential link value of your video. Not only will this boost your viewership and subsequently your ranking, but it will also aid in creating more conversions.

Embed Source Links

Including a script in your videos embed code, with a link back to your website as the source, can also further link building. Including this information, not only helps move your video to the top of Google search results because there is text content and video content, but it also aids in building links and directing traffic to your website.

Video as Content Creation

One of the awesome things about creating a video is that you can repurpose the video for a multitude of other content creation. Some people suggest that video creation can be limiting and considered “thin content” so to reinforce the video you can do things like a text transcription which is exactly what it says it is – literally a transcription of your video into text.

As part of my job I read a multitude of articles throughout the day to conduct research. I am not always able to turn on my speakers so even putting a text transcription below the video can aid people like myself who want the information but don’t have access to speakers (this will also aid in decreasing your bounce rate). You can also turn a text transcription into a PDF download. Turning a video into something like a PowerPoint or a SlideShare presentation is another way to repurpose the video. If you do turn it into a PowerPoint, then you can share it on SlideShare which will then provide you many other SEO benefits as I discussed in my previous post. Screen shots are another way to share the video in a different medium while still linking back to the video. You can also use the audio as a podcast, if the audio by itself is suitable.

Helps In Increasing Targeted Traffic

Our websites are the only places we find solace in traffic. Traffic means people are coming to your site. Traffic means potential conversions. One of the issues when deciding to do videos is where you want the traffic to go.

As I mentioned above, YouTube rules the Google search engine result pages. The potential trouble with that is, if your videos are all posted through YouTube you are probably not seeing a lot of the YouTube traffic translate into website traffic.

The reason?

Less than 1% of YouTube visitors convert to website visitors. So the question then is how do we implement the benefits of YouTube’s power and still get traffic to our websites?

First, if you have a YouTube account set up and feature your video on YouTube. Any views of this video through YouTube will not decrease your website’s bounce rate since the platforms are different. Also, the traffic will then be directed to the YouTube channel rather than the website. However, in the YouTube description box you can link to your website and provide any information that might aid in creating a conversion. It would also be to your benefit to include this information within the context of the video. In terms of featuring the video on your website, you should do this even if you have the video on YouTube. YouTube is going to help with indexing (i.e. ranking on the search engine result pages), but having the video on your website will aid in creating rich content on your site making your site more engaging for users who are driven there either through YouTube or organic search queries.

Video is a great medium to communicate information to various clientele and potential clients. Instead of dense text, video provides visual and auditory stimulation. It is also a medium that allows your business creative license to engage your website visitors and build trust and reputation. While there are many aspects of SEO that revolve around coding and meta data, video optimization is a great way to decrease your bounce rate as well as increase links and traffic. SEO is about online marketing, so creating a strong online marketing portfolio means using the best tools around you to build the best site that you can.

In all Google Updates since last year or so, Google has emphasized more on Unique and Quality contents. Recent updates in Google Search Engine Algorithms have been cracking down on duplicate contents on the websites.

So what happens if you have multiple websites? Do you have unique contents on them?

If you have franchisee websites then there is always a possibility that you will end up in having duplicate contents on franchisee websites.

Does it have any effect on the performance of your franchisee websites?

Answer is yes. Certainly you are in for a Google disliking your website due to duplicate contents.

The reality is that there is going to be duplicate content on your franchisees websites. There is no way around that, especially if your franchise networks’ numbers are in the hundreds.

Finding a clear and concise solution to solving the duplicate content issue can be time consuming and writing original and fresh content for a large number of websites is simply exhausting.

And who really has time to manage franchisee content across a large number of websites? If you want your franchisees websites in search results you need to address duplicate content.

In a recent Matt Cutts video he points out that:

You should be focusing on content that is high quality and provides real value to the user.

A Numbers Game

So let’s talk numbers. Just how much duplicate content can you share across multiple sites? While there isn’t a magic number that says 35% duplication is ok and 36% is not, keep in mind that a search engine’s algorithm is private and constantly changing.

Using good sense as a guide and keeping in mind that your websites content should provide value to users is the way to go.

These are a few pointers that can help you beat the duplicate content monster across your franchisee websites.

Scan your franchisee websites for duplicate content

Read this article from Empowerkit that provides useful resources for identifying duplicate content)

Create a content calendar with your franchisees

Establishing a close communication with your franchisees is very important so that they can be involved in the content creation process. Afterall local is the name of the game in franchises and they could help with geo targeted localized content.

Provide customizable templates

Setting up content templates is an easy way to make your content development scaleable. Set up a content template that your franchisees can easily edit so that they can add in unique content.

Images and videos are content too

While many don’t think of images and videos as content, search engines are smart enough to identify both as content. So have your franchisees include them on their websites.

Focusing on unique and fresh content on your franchise websites is a must! Keep in mind the tips outlined above and you will increase the chances that your franchisee websites will be found in search results and increase conversion opportunities.

Idea of buying from Home, office or anywhere in the world has taken the shopping world by storm. People prefer to stay inside rather than roaming on busy streets for their shopping. A medium which provides the flexibility to do so is called Ecommerce. Electronic Commerce is normally an online industry where someone actually sale or buy any product using any online media using electronic devices like computers, mobile or tablets. It also supports many other utilization mediums such as mobile commerce, electronic fund transfers, internet and online marketing, online money transactions, SCM and many others. It is a base of online business and promotion.

Ecommerce website development is becoming the largest retail source of shopping in the world. Now people do most of their shopping on these ecommerce websites rather than in the shopping malls.

What is an Ecommerce Website?

You have often heard the word ecommerce, but you never go into the in-depth analysis about the ecommerce website what is it and how it works. E-commerce website is just like a virtual shop window or online window shop. You can buy everything from the site like gifts, books, toys, perfumes, clothes, bags, accessories, grocery etc. Its a platform, which brings everything on your fingertips. From shopping to billing, you don’t need to spend hours in the supermarket or shopping malls to shop your desired products. After the advent of mobile devices, the online business has just become the matter of some clicks. You can promote or market your products beyond the geographical limits using an ecommerce platform. In fact, it’s such a great invention of modern technology.

Well, if you want to find out how to create an ecommerce website, here are some basic things to consider:

Designing an e-Commerce Website

Designing ecommerce website is not as easy. It should be designed in a very refined and highly professional style and must contain organized and detailed information about the service or product you offer. So, the visitors can easily get an idea of all the things in just a glimpse.

Clear Product Details

Just imagine yourself as a visitor, if you have searched an online store to buy something and you haven’t found proper information about your desired product, you must be frustrated. Users expect the same thing on the online shopping websites. So, the information should be precise, complete and appealing in order to win visitors over. It should not be lengthy or in the form of paragraphs. Customers will not be interested in reading long essays before purchasing any product. Moreover, the customers should be guided properly how to buy the product and how to pay the bill. So that they can easily carry out their shopping without any frustration.

Adding Shopping Cart

One of the most important components of an Ecommerce website is shopping cart software. Shopping cart acts as an online store’s catalog and ordering process platform. Shopping cart should include all the vital information required by the customer. Such as, change the quantity of products, discounts, shipping and payment settings etc. Remember, a well designed shopping and payment software can make online shopping just a piece of cake for the buyers.

Conclusion: The purpose of this exercise is not to achieve the best results but the following steps may help you get a hold on these issues. However, you can continue to find out other aspects of your ecommerce business to keep improving.

Which medium provides the best suitable solution for interaction?

As per current trend, Social Media is leading the chase and has changed the way for all users to interact with online community with ease. Anyone can keep in touch with Customers, Buyers, Friends and Family with a click away and can access what others are offering, doing, thinking etc. Social Digital Marketing is very important tool for marketing any business on online media. It gives maximum mileage to your business and reaches to every corner of the world.

To make money, a company must sell its merchandise. To sell merchandise, a company needs to have a client base. Being able to advertise on Twitter, Facebook, and countless other social networks has given businesses access to an enormous audience of engaged people at an incredibly low price. The only problem is, too many business owners do not understand how the social media model truly works, and expect to see results immediately after they put up their page or open their account.

Understanding the Stages of Social Media Marketing Growth

Social media marketing does not have the immediate impact that traditional television, radio, and print campaigns do. When Coca-Cola advertises a new brand of soda on TV, millions see it at once and (hopefully) go out and buy it. You will not have that same selling power when advertising on social media. And if you’re expecting immediate sales from a few Facebook or Twitter posts, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.

Social media marketing campaigns follow the marketing pyramid, and the beginning stage is to create awareness for your business or product and to position yourself as a trusted source in the market.

So, what’s the first step? Simply getting consumers to look at your content. After that, begin to focus on moving potential customers up the marketing pyramid and through the stages of the sales cycle: Lead -> Qualified lead -> Customer -> Retention.

Let’s take a closer look at the stages of the sales cycles to truly understand how they will impact your social media marketing.

Search or lead stage

The search or lead stage is where potential customers become aware they have a need or problem that must be addressed. At this point, they’re usually interested in learning as much as they can about a topic, but they may have little idea about the different solutions out there. It’s your job to educate them.

These people are great potential customers because they will eventually need a service that you can provide. However, your goal at this stage is not to try to sell them anything, but to create content that will eventually lead them to your webpage or product page.

Conversion of qualified lead stage:

After you have gotten enough people to visit your website or social media page, the next step is to convert them into a lead by getting them to interact with your page. What does that mean? Things like having them like your Facebook page, follow your blog, retweet a few posts, or sign up for your e-mail list.

Accomplish that and you will have created “leads” that have shown a willingness to interact with you and your site in some form. From this point, your goal is to get this relationship to grow and turn them into paying customers down the road.

You do this by continuing the conversation: e-mail them coupons and information on sales, respond to comments and likes, and use analytics to better pinpoint what they are interested in. Eventually some of your leads will buy from you and become customers.

Customer stage

During this stage you have already turned a few leads into actual paying consumers, so don’t stop now. You want as many people as possible to buy your products, so continue to analyze your sales pitch and customer data. Figure out what percentage of people are visiting your page or viewing your posts compared to those actually purchasing products, and don’t be afraid to make changes to see if they improve your conversion rates.

Retention stage:

The retention stage is all about growth. It’s great that you have a customer base and even a few repeat clients, but that doesn’t mean it’s time lie back and watch the profits come in. Your focus should be on keeping customers coming back to your product and services, while also bringing in new clients and potential leads.

During this stage, your blog or social media posts should continue to do what they’ve been doing, but also add information about product updates, promotions, and anything else you can think of that will get people thinking about your company.

Remember, getting customers to move through the stages of the pyramid is a process that takes time, effort and patience. The best way to grow your brand is to keep learning about your audience and create high-quality content that reflects their interests and needs.

Is it simple? Can everyone be successful with marketing? To be honest, Marketing is somewhat complicated business and aside from spinning money-making slogans and enticing unwitting consumers with witty marketing antics and creative strategies – one must be able to track the results. If you can’t track it then what is the point in designing / developing excellent marketing strategy? Do you have any criteria which define your marketing strategy a success or failure? Do you know how tracking actually works?

People come up with answers like watching sales, monitoring product trends etc but truth is far from it. These answers are just indistinct and misleading. You are getting away from the actual analytics of campaign. It is time to learn how you can successfully track the success of a marketing campaign. This is a brief overview to how you can track specific areas of your marketing campaign, allowing you to allocate your budget with complete confidence due to your insightful knowledge showcasing just how effective or ineffective certain area are.

Tip One: Ask Your Customers

It doesn’t matter if you want to track on or offline marketing (you should try and monitor both); one of the most effective and often overlooked methods of tracking how successful certain aspects of your marketing campaign are is by asking your customers. Where did you hear about us? It’s an easy question but, by gee, it’s a great one.

You find out in an instance where they heard about you – whether it’s direct mail, that advert you placed in the local newspaper or your new PPC campaign. Furthermore, if they’ve popped in store you’ll be able to tell what gender and age range certain aspects of your marketing campaign are appealing to.

Top Tip: Make a note and keep a record and you’ll soon start to spot trends!

Tip Two: Trackable Links, Phone Numbers & Discount Codes

Phone tracking is great – place it on your website, at the bottom of a direct mail leaflet or in an e-marketing newsletter and you can track how many phone calls are made as a direct result of that one marketing tool. It gives you great insight into your marketing strategy, and highlights what is generating the most traffic.

Links are good for tracking certain online marketing campaigns – specifically social media. Place a link on Facebook and Twitter using bit.ly and create a free biy.ly account and you can see how many clicks that one link generates. This can be used in conjunction with Google analytics which can be placed on your website to monitor how many people visit your website, what keyword was used to find your website and how long they spent on your website.

Discount codes are also really good at seeing which aspects of your marketing campaign are working – place a discount code on your Facebook page or in a magazine (use different ones) and you’ll see what has the most exposure and generates the most traffic. This is not always accurate as the codes tend to get spread across the internet.

Tip Three: Custom Landing Pages

This is great if you are running promotions and it works for both offline and online marketing techniques. Simply generate a landing page which has an easy and short URL e.g. www.Greatdeals.co.uk – by keeping it short and sweet people are more likely to remember it. Then using your Google analytics, watch how much traffic goes to the website and you’ll see how much your one marketing campaign is generating.

These are just a few ways to track the success of your marketing campaign and if you have a few tips of your own which you want to share be sure to leave us a comment below.

How PPC Ads writing works? Does Search Engine have its unique way to get it written? Many People who does not know answers to above questions normally start writing their ads without thinking too much of an effect. They plant whatever they feel like as long as it fills the allotted space and upload it in search engines without single thought.

It is important to write these ads from PPC copywriters whose writing takes place with such a nonchalant attitude, considering how important it is. Your aim is to get people click through the ads and if you don’t get that then what is the point in doing ad campaign? Eventually your campaign comes crashing like Titanic.

One of the most overlooked elements in writing PPC ads is the audience. While you hear the marketing command to “Know your target customer” often repeated, what you might not consider is how those customers actually behave while interacting with your ads online. For instance, is yours a passive or active audience?

Passive Behavior

Put yourself in your customers’ shoes for a bit. Take an imaginary trip over to Facebook. What are you doing there? If you’re like most people, you check your timeline and/or your business page. You respond to the updates you see, make a few posts while you’re there, perhaps play a game, etc. Basically, you interact with people.

What you most likely don’t do on Facebook is actively look for products and services to purchase. Sure, there are ads in your timeline and page sidebars, and even in the timeline itself, but they are afterthoughts. Your interaction with these ads is passive.

Perhaps while you’re looking at your timeline, you might catch a glimpse of an ad in the sidebar that interests you. Or, while scrolling through your newsfeed, you see a promoted post that you decide to ‘like,’ but that’s not why you went to Facebook to begin with, so your interaction with the ads is not your primary behavior.

Active Behavior

On the other hand, when surfers go to search engines (Google, Bing, etc.), they are actively looking for something. They intend to find the solution to a problem, discover a great price on a new pair of shoes, score a new source for a product they couldn’t find at their local store, get information, etc.

Because these people are diligently trying to find something, they embrace PPC ads as part of their discovery process. These ads contain the possible solutions your target customers are seeking.

Needless to say, when you write PPC ads, you must consider whether the core of your audience will be passive or active to get the best results.

Writing to Active Customers

If you’re writing AdWords ads (or ads that will appear on another search engine), I’d suggest including verbs that relate to accomplishing the surfers’ goals: find, get, discover, shop, search, learn, etc. While all your ads certainly don’t have to have these words, you’ll probably find a good bit of success when you include them in your headline or copy.

Writing to Passive Customers

For ads targeted to passive onlookers (Facebook, ads that run the AdSense network, etc.), I’d recommend skipping the search-type verbs such as search and find because ad viewers won’t necessarily be in search mode. If you plan to exclusively run ads for this demographic, then test using special offers, discounts, exclusive deals or announcements in your copy. This could help entice those who might not really be looking to purchase (or take other actions), but could be persuaded to look further if your ad copy is good enough.

Once you understand if you’re competing with other activities for the attention of your audience, you’ll be able to create ads that more effectively accomplish your goals.

You can find many ways to generate traffic on your blog.

Here I have highlighted some ways which may help you all:

Surely, the profit coming from blogs hasn’t guaranteed expensive trips toHawaiifor the owners, but this income can represent an important percentage of the overall income. Launching a blog isn’t an easy task and the road to make money from it is very difficult, usually only the guys with a strong passion and with a lot of patience get to the point of deriving considerable profit from it. In a great measure, the money obtained are in direct relationship with the traffic, the number of visitors per unit of time (day, week, month); having more money is a must, to constantly increase the number of visitors and also to have a good number of visitors.

Word of Mouth:

Over time, word of mouth has proven to be one of the best marketing tools. Besides being cheap, this method is excellent and can easily bring hundreds of visitors to your site. It is not a crime to keep bragging about how good your blog is; it really works wonders.

Article Marketing:

Article marketing has proven to be among the most effective ways you can drive traffic to your blog. There are many great article directories where you can market your blog. You can write high quality and very professional articles on the most popular article directories such as ezine. com and link them to your blog. It’s extremely simple. Just write a 400- or 500-word article and include searchable keywords or keyword phrases and then post it on major article directories with a URL. Consequently, other website owners will repost your article together with your site URL. This will then create backlinks to your blog and hence drive traffic.
Use Press Releases:

Buying keywords can be a very interesting idea and efficient way to market your blog online. You can buy keywords through different services such as Google and Overture.
Use Newsletters:

Sending email newsletters to an opt-in list also serve as a good way of driving traffic to your blog. An opt-in list is simply a list of interested subscribers that have authorized you to send a newsletter to. Auto-responders are the best method;they play an important role when it comes to email marketing by sending automatic newsletter emails to specific people within a specified period of time. It costs nothing to use auto responders to send out your email newsletter.

Twitter:

Twitter is one of the largest social media platforms through which you can market your blog. You can easily gather followers on twitter and start putting out status updates for your site. Your followers will then share their thoughts and as a result, help you get more followers. This serves as one of the best ways to spread the word about your blog and what it offers. Twitter has proven to be more effective in terms of marketing your site compared to paid advertising.

Facebook:

Recent research has shown that Facebook is the leading social media platform in the world. Many businessmen have turned to Facebook to advertise their products and services. You can also take advantage of its popularity and use Facebook to advertise your blog. It costs you nothing to create a Facebook page just for your blog. This platform enables you to network as well as get quick and easy access to millions of online users within a short period of time. You can also target a specific group of people through Facebook and attract them to your blog. Through Facebook marketing, you will get a massive group of visitors to your site and thus improve its online presence.

Post On Forums:

Posting on forums is also a good way of driving traffic to your blog. Basically, forums are websites which enable online users of the same interest to join and form groups with each other on bulletin boards. You can search such websites and find groups that most suits your niche and interact with them through chatting and leaving comments that include your URL. This has proven to be one of the best methods that blog owners can use to get free backlinks for their sites. Forums can also serve as a platform through which you can ask important questions to your potential clients. This will help you improve your website, delivering quality content to meet the full expectations of your visitors. Posting comments and joining forums helps many webmasters with tight budgets drive traffic to their blogs.

Write And Post Articles Online:

Writing and posting articles online is one of the greatest ways you can adopt to market your site online. For instance, you may only write 10 high quality articles and post them online. Within a few months, you will realize that there are over 5,000 postings of your articles on the internet. Other website owners will take these articles and then they’ll spread quickly throughout the web. When writing online articles ensure that each one has a byline, a short description of your blog, and your blog address, as well as other contact details. This method is among one of the best and easiest ones to enable you to effortlessly drive more than enough traffic to your blog.

Partner With Others:

Try to get a complementary partner and use his site to advertise yours and vice versa. You can have many partners and have them refer to your site through the link on their blog. One of the best ways to include partners on your blog is to create a separate page just for them;you may give such a page a title like Resources or References. In addition, you may agree with your partners to help each other market blogs by promoting each other’s services and products to your prospective email list. This is an excellent marketing strategy that will see your blog flocked with thousands of online users.

Sign Up With Search Engines Submission Sites:

It’s good to sign up with various free search engine submission websites, too. Research such web sites and register with each of them. It is recommended that you use Google which is free rather than registering with paid search engines such as Yahoo and Alta Vista. Another great thing about Google is that it’s the top search engine;therefore considered superior over others. Through Google, your online presence will be enhanced and you’ll gain more traffic to your blog without costing anything.

Make Your Site SEO-Friendly:

You may consider submitting your articles with a link on various search engines as well as major directories. Some of the major search engines include Google, Ask, Yahoo, MSN, and Bing. When your blog is listed in many search engines as well as major directories, your traffic will go up and search ranking will be improved.

Ensure that your header, description head, and title tags convey accurately what your blog is all about. Search engines usually consider such things when ranking your site in search results. Once your blog is on the first page of the search result, you will automatically get enough traffic to your blog.

Comment On Blogs:

Visit as many blogs as possible in the same niche and leave insightful comments related to the topics being discussed. At the end of each comment, ensure that you leave a link to your blog. This will enable the readers of these blogs to click on the link and visit your blog.

Create Your E-Mail “Signature”:

Email signatures serve a big role when it comes to driving traffic to your blog. Simply create an email signature including your name, a short description of what your website is all about, as well as the blog address. Then set up your email program to automatically allow your signature to be included in every email that you send to subscribers.

Use A “Viral” Strategy:

Come up with something of great value that will attract people. You may create a report that contains very important information and then allow your users to share with others for free. Ensure that such an item contains your advertisement as well as a link to your blog. If your document is attractive enough, many people will want to send it to their friends and as a result, drive enough traffic to your blog.

Get Your Site On Free Classified Ad Sites:

The free classified websites are in plenty on the web. Some of them include gumtree, freeadvertisingforum, inetgiant, and craigslist. These sites will enable you to advertise your blog services free of charge and as a result, get more visitors on your blog.

Join Free Safe-Lists:

The free safe-lists are basically lists of online users who have opted-in to send, as well as receive, emails to each other. You can join such lists to enable you to reach thousands of online users by sending them your emails. This will help you get more online visitors within a very short period of time.

Use MySpace:

MySpace is one of the best places you can advertise your blog services since it is usually visited by millions of online users. Therefore it can help you improve your traffic as well as search engine rankings.

Create News Section:

You may want to include a news section on your blog. Then you can constantly post interesting news related to your niche in this section. This will keep your visitors coming back for more news and thus improve your search engine rankings.

Search for the top and most popular social bookmarking websites and submit your blog there. This will serve as the best way to create back links to your blog and as a result drive traffic and boost your search engine rankings.

Use Yahoo Answers:

Yahoo Answers is one of the top online interactive platforms that you can utilize to market your blog. On this platform, many people ask questions on various topics while those who are well versed with the topics give answers to the best of their knowledge. The answers given are then voted and rated based on the number of votes received. You may want to try this out by answering questions related to what your blog offers. In your answers, refer readers to get more information from your blog by including your blog link. Answer as many questions as you can. This is one of many excellent ways to drive traffic to your blog.

Stay On Topic:

When using various online marketing methods such as article posting, forum commenting, social networking, and question answering, you should stick to your blog’s main topic. There are higher chances of you receiving a lot of visitors to your blog if your site content as well as your online activities match in topic.

Use Social Bookmarking Sites:

Search the major social bookmarking sites such as StumbleUpon and Mixx and register with them. Try to remain very active on these sites to help enhance your online presence and thus drive more traffic to your blog.

Give Out Business Cards:

Create high quality business cards for your blog services and give them away to as many people as you can. Ensure that you include your blog address on the card to enable people to access it.

Use A Giveaway:

Place ads about your blog giveaways on different websites including social sites such as Twitter and Facebook. This has recently been observed to be one of the best ways to drive traffic to a blog.

Write An Ebook:

eBooks are again one of the best ways of marketing your blog online. Create several informative eBooks and promote them through various online channels. In each eBook, be sure you include a link to your blog.

Use Blog Promotion Tool:

Stay alert by searching the web and ensuring that you identify new blog promotion tools that will help market your blog online.

Use Videos:

You can create your own video that talks about what your blog is all about. Upload this video on YouTube to allow many people to watch it. It’s recommended that you film short, but humorous videos, to help you get more people on your blog.

Participate In Blogging Events:

Today, there are many blogging and social media events such as conferences. Such events enable you to meet other bloggers; besides having these bloggers read your blog, you will also learn a lot from them that may serve to promote and improve the performance of your blog.

Guest Blog:

Give away your writing in the form of guest blogging on other web sites. You can write at least one article every month for the sites that you want to exchange for a link. Besides, you may want to publish several informative articles on such sites; this is one way of additionally earning income apart from driving traffic to your blog.

Online presence is very crucial and marketing your website should be given more weight to achieve your goals. Follow the above easy and creative ways to help you drive traffic to your site as well as convert that traffic to customers.

Customers are your best marketers and tutors. This is the fact and if you understand that you will get the best for your business. After working on social media for quite a sometime, I must admit that I have learned many things from my various clients across the globe. There is always a way to work with just about anybody, is the biggest lesson which I learned. Of course to interact with anybody comes down to communication in managing expectations and delivering exceptional service.

Here are some facts about establishing better communications with your customers:

Transparent in your expectations . Clearly identify what’s expected of you and what you expect of the customer. Do this up front – as you begin to work together – and revisit these expectations on a regular basis. This is especially important for those who work in an industry like social media. For me, it can be challenging to explain the value of something that does not always generate an immediate, clear, and tangible ROI. But I find that if I can help my customers set realistic social media goals and expectations, they are more likely to stick with it and give it enough time to achieve their ROI. Of equal importance is outlining what I require of my clients in order to help me do my job to the best of my ability (‘help me, help you.’).

Commit only when you’re going to do . No matter how small the task, always do what you say you are going to do. If you tell a customer that you will call next week, make sure you come through. If you tell them that you will review a document tomorrow, it is expected that it will be reviewed tomorrow. Because life happens, there will be times that we can’t always do everything we promise. In that case, just let them know that you are aware that you said you would have their monthly report on Thursday, but the day got away from you so it will be Friday. Tell them that you appreciate their patience and that you apologize for being late. Doing what you say you’re going to do, and making sure you communicate with your customer when plans change, will enhance your credibility by leaps and bounds.

Deliver more than expected . For those of you who own a business, you understand that doing the bare minimum is often not enough. In order to differentiate ourselves and stand out from our competitors, we must go the extra mile. It shows that we care and that we take pride in a job well done. It’s also something people tend to remember, especially when it’s time to renew a contract or when the opportunity for a referral arises. You won’t always be able to hit it out of the park nor should you, but the small extras can make a big difference.

Never limit yourself with defensive attitude . When I receive feedback that’s less-than-positive, I do my best not to react emotionally. Since I am a sensitive person, I usually have to ‘react’ to myself for a bit, and then I can respond appropriately. After I have had time to process my emotions, I revisit the feedback objectively and determine where I may have been at fault. I find there’s always something I could have done better and I make sure incorporate this realization into a plan for improvement.

Always apologize for any inconvenience . This seems simple enough, yet so many of us would rather point the finger than admit our fault. If I make a mistake – and we all do – I apologize. I do this proactively and repeatedly. I put a plan in place to fix it and make sure it never happens again. I’ve found that clients appreciate that I was truthful about my error and that I did what I could to fix it rather than sweep it under the rug and hope they didn’t notice. This simple step is a real trust builder.

Customer relationships are a work in progress, but by putting the right communication principals in place, you may find your formula for making the relationship not only work, but also last!

Clients are best marketers for any business whether it’s online or offline. Client satisfaction and their positive feedback will help any business to grow and they are the ones who will help in getting back to back leads. Normally positive referrals are main source of getting good leads or business and client reviews and testimonials are also very important to maintain good reputation for your business. Being online consultant for quite some time, I can express that any business have often influenced on good client testimonials. This article gives you unique information on your business can get valuable and necessary testimonials and why they are so important for business.

Client testimonials are one of the important tools which appear in search results for major search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. There should be a separate page on the website for satisfied clients to leave their valuable feedback about your company and services keeping in mind the professional and satisfactory services offered they received from your company.

Effectiveness of Client Testimonials and Reviews

Three essential elements that are necessary for the smooth functioning of a client-firm relation are credibility, security, and believability. Client testimonials and reviews act as a powerful step in establishing all three of the above-mentioned success pillars. Credibility assists a firm in breaking the natural marketing barrier and establishes a sense of trust among the clients, who may consider you as an unfamiliar service provider at first.

Client reviews are kind of a support or a motion of confidence that a third party instills in your prospects through the magic of words. For example, a company repeatedly singing about its own quality would be a bit skeptical for the prospective client. On the otherhand, you have an existing client singing the same song about the service provider, not only the thing will be a satisfactory but more believable too.

Why people believe the client??? Just because he does not have any economic interest or to keep it simple, He doesn’t give a damn about you and your company’s future!

Local Edge and Competitive advantage

It’s a very acknowledgeable fact that in a local market segment, a local vendor has a sharp edge over the large business sharks. Local vendors have the liberty and ability to communicate with the clients directly without any communication channel in between, which is why they are able to satisfy them better. Obtaining realistic reviews through direct interaction will prove to be much effective than traditional surveys.

Testimonials and Advertising

Advertising and Testimonials always go hand-in-hand! Don’t believe me? Then, try finding out an effective weight loss campaign without client testimonials or any great rehabilitation advertisement without client reviews. For gods sake, even mobile phones have client reviews now! My point is that testimonials have the unique ability of overcoming disbelief much effectively than any other traditional marketing tools.

Testimonials can also be included in direct mail piece or even to the sales letter, so as to add credence. Including realistic testimonials is a better way of making things sound more realistic.

Allow the Client to Provide Testimonials Easily

I have included this point in the end to simply remind you of the fact that one should never pull a client out of the comfort zone, just to get a testimonial. Now, this is where your real professionalism lies, which is thinking of a perfect way to make the client deliver a testimonial realistically. Create a centralized local resource section in your website that clients and visitors find easy to locate. This centralized location will have well-trafficked review website wherein a client can easily post testimonials. Clients normally use these websites to review service provider’s work, which is why posting another review will never be a big deal for them.

Did You Ever Know that Client Testimonials are Essential for Search Rankings?

“Effective Client testimonial = Good Market Image + Better Business + Better Search Visibility”

Now, how can one ignore the value of client testimonials, especially after what I mentioned above?

Client testimonials and reviews do have a very favorable effect on the local search engine rankings, which is why major search engines show client reviews in search results too.

Conclusion

Somehow, I have a feeling that after reading the contents mentioned above you might have a different take on the value of client reviews or testimonials. However, if you still don’t care, then think again or the deteriorating image of your brand will force you to change your opinion. Reading what others think of a particular service provider is enough to break a prospect’s doubts and establish an authoritative sense of credibility. On the otherhand, the clients who provide you with the testimonials develop a sense of pride and joy due to the promising association so far, which is the reason they are offering to write their feelings publicly.

Small business enterprises or units have a major advantage in getting client testimonials due to the level of proximity they have with their prospects. However, make sure you satisfy your clients too with your work quality and professionalism. Internet has opened us a gateway to many possibilities, which is why constant research has been my kind of a hobby. Do let me know how you feel about the information mentioned till now and feel free to share the knowledge.

Normally this can be achieved from getting a package at cheaper cost from freelancers to increase the follower’s list; it only serves if you are happy with increasing follower’s list numbers.

Are you happy with the follower’s list that is not generating enough for your business? Are you happy with the impression of your Twitter profile with spam follower’s list generation methods?

If your answer is NO, then what you really need? Simple answer is Quality followers and for that you need to add some extra efforts because only targeted audience makes the difference to your business sales and reputation.

So next question is how to achieve that? Answer lies with Twitter Chat. More efforts required to get more followers but it worth an experience. Only way to identify your follower is by interaction.

What is a Twitter Chat?

A Twitter Chat is essentially a group discussion via Twitter at a set time centered around a specific topic. Select a topic that most people are ready to discuss. This could be about a current event, like the Oscars, or an interview with an industry professional who agrees to answer questions and share his or her knowledge.

If you’ve never participated in a Twitter Chat, you can join a few before setting up one of your own to get an idea of how it works. You can find listings of upcoming chats on Google Docs or search with hashtags on your Tweetdeck or Hootsuite app.

What does it have to do with business?

Hosting or sponsoring a Tweet Chat will generate a lot of interest in your account. As a sponsor, you can post one or two promotional tweets during the discussion, which participants may retweet as a courtesy.

The more chats you have, the more people will start to identify your brand as it relates to certain topics.

Why use Twitter Chat?

When you take part in a chat as a representative of your brand or as a sponsor, you will see more people following you who have an actual interest in your niche. You can get more mentions when you invite influencers from Twitter to join your chat and strengthen your connections with them.

How to participate?

Decide on a time and date to hold your chat. Choose the hashtag that is related to your chat.

Spread the word about your upcoming chat to as many people as you can and ask them to share it with others.

A moderator may be assigned to ask questions, welcome participants and help maintain the flow of the chat.

Use the hashtag when asking a question or giving a response.

Do not use a Twitter Chat as an opportunity to plug your products and services.

Growing your Twitter following can help you become an authority in your niche. When you have quality followers who share your tweets and engage with you, you will see higher numbers for your brand as well.

You can connect with industry leaders and other influencers when you participate in and start up chats centered around relevant topics. Using Twitter Chat to grow your brand can be a fun and valuable way to grow your reputation and find more followers for your business.

Have you participated in Twitter Chats? How have they helped your brand?

One must understand the perfect way of marketing, to gain anything from their efforts. Underestimating the importance of SEO for online marketing, you are nearly forgetting the core market. Market Research will help you understand your market audience and with SEO, you can easily achieve your successful targets.

With SEO, you can increase your brand presence and maintain your business reputation among your target audience, buyers, and sellers and among all other concern related businesses. Advertising is a way to push a product in a way to convince someone to buy it.

Because of this, they create a lasting impact through all the forms in which they are manifested. In many ways, the different tactics around marketing overlap with those of SEO and sometimes, are the same, applying to both campaigns.

An Overview of Marketing and SEO Strategy

In the case of both marketing and SEO, your main aim is to create a lasting impression around your brand in the minds of your consumers. While this is the same thing you’re aiming for in advertising, the method by which you do it with the first two is more subtle and expansive at the same time.

SEO is, in essence, a form of marketing and marketing itself is the creation of a strong image around you brand, or more pointedly, the creation of an entire concept and conversation around it. What you want to do with both strategies is create content, videos, images and general concepts that generate interest, are shared socially and catch the notice of people in a way that leads them to keep these creations in mind. This is much more complex than simple advertising tactics and it requires a lot more long-term effort.

Now that we’ve defined these textured concepts, let’s delve into the ingredient that will make them most effectively possible: market research.

Market Research for your Marketing, SEO and Brand Impression

To create vital interest like that described above in your potential customers and fans, you first need to know as much as possible what it is they’re really interested in; what plays to their emotions and needs.

Doing this is tricky and you’ll almost never nail it down perfectly but, through strategic and very careful market research, you’ll come fairly close — as close as possible when trying to push the buttons of thousands of strangers.

This is exactly why market research is so vital to effective marketing/SEO.

Knowing Your Niche

As a starting strategy, get to know your niche intimately. This means taking an active role within your research and adapting as you go to create your marketing image. Participate in online conversations with those that constitute your target audience, read what they have to say in any place where they’re saying it be it online forums, social media pages or blog comment posts. Through these things, get a feel for what you yourself can start saying and promoting for best results in feeding their curiosity and meeting their information needs.

Once you’ve done that, you can start creating your own content and your own conversations that attract interest in a way that your niche audience will listen to and feel satisfied by.

Feedback and Interaction

It doesn’t end there, however. Having started your own conversations — through content, blog posts, essays, articles, videos and service or product offers — you need to keep listening, because the process of knowing your targets is never ending. Thus, as you create materials that make people pay attention, start talking and start sharing; listen to their continuing opinions, questions and criticisms. Address them, answer them and, in doing so, build a steadily growing trust that leads to the creation of loyal fans who want to work with you and recognize, instinctively, as good and useful the brand behind all your content and information.

If these fans do this, they will really start spreading the word on your behalf, in essence creating “buzz” around your brand and the products or services behind it. This in turn will cause more connections to grow to other, newer followers and interest to start flowing in from other websites.

The optimization impact of these things is absolutely vital, especially today, with the more organic human-interested ranking metrics the major search engines pay attention to.

Additional Practical Strategies

While the overall strategy of creating interest through constant immersive interaction with your target audience is your single best weapon to long-term fan building, there are also more classical market research tools that you need to take advantage of to help things along.

For one, keyword research tools are some of your best friends and will give you an enormous amount of valuable information about the basic search habits of your niche audience, in turn leading you to starting points of content and conversation that you can begin with. These will show themselves in the form of all the keyword and phrase combinations your viewers are searching for.

Some excellent tools include the Google Adwords Keyword tool, which is free to use for the most part and also includes a monthly membership fee based on the tools you use at www.wordtracker.com.

One final consideration: because sales are what we’re really ultimately focusing on here, keep in mind just how willing your audience is to spend money. While it is possible to create a product for almost any niche imaginable, it’s a lot easier for some niches than for others.

In particular, focus on finding practical, effective solutions to the pressing problems of your audience, using everything described above, particularly the art of immersive engagement to build trust and learn what kinds of problems you can solve or offer solutions to.

When internet launched, everyone wanted to have their business online. Time passes and with innovation in technology, mobile has become integral and essential part of your online business. If you sell your products via shopping cart or offer other services but key question remains to be answered: Are your offerings and your target audience remain at the same place at the same time?

When you are selling your products via website or blog, you need to have the presence and availability all the time. It is important that your target audience find your products from their convenient electronic medium like laptop, mobile, tabs etc. So the connection between you business and customer is very essential part of running a successful business practice.

Before the Internet and search engines came into play, it was all about advertising. Getting the word out about your product through mediums like TV or newspaper ads, billboards, word of mouth, and even leaflets stuck on door handles were the way you got to your customers. The general idea remains the same when used with local internet marketing, and just as advertising has evolved in the real world, it has done the same online. In both instances, the evolution has come about in reaction to who is being marketed to. For example, as more and more people began to use cars and drive on the highway, roadside billboards became more viable. The same thing is happening right now online, as more and more people are consuming and searching for content online from their mobile phones.

As smartphones have caught on, mobile internet traffic has increased exponentially. In fact, the gap between desktop and mobile searches continues to narrow, and predictions place mobile searches in the U.S. ahead of desktop searches as soon as 2015.

This is a big deal for a few reasons:

Mobile phones view webpages differently than desktops. Smaller screens mean less viewable content at a time. Many website developers use the newspaper term “above the fold” to describe the information that is first viewable on a website. For a mobile device, the information viewable above the fold is more like a newspaper being folded into a quarter of its normal size.

Mobile phones are used for local search. It is estimated that up to 80% of searchers research purchases online before shopping within 10 to 20 miles. Because of how well represented brick-and-mortar businesses are becoming, customers are able to compare products online before going out to the store. Some will even compare pricing on their cell phone while in the store.

Mobile searches are very focused, more so than normal online searches. It’s much more difficult to type into a cell phone compared to a keyboard, and this lends itself to focused search queries. Combine this idea with searchers who are shopping in the physical world while they compare in the digital one, and you are up against your first impression.

Websites are doing more to be mobile-friendly. Not every website can initially justify the investment that a mobile version of their site represents. But make no mistake; eventually all websites will need this ability. The best way to determine when this needs to happen is through the analytics of your website. Once your mobile percentage rises above 25% of overall traffic, you need to seriously consider a mobile version of your website. If a visitor is accessing your site and the site of your competitor, and you’re the one without a mobile site, then you’ve already lost.

Finally, mobile websites act as a quick reference. Especially for service-oriented websites, having a mobile webpage that readily displays clickable, callable information means that your customers can quickly get ahold of you when necessary.

So what should you do with your design?

Get responsive. First of all, designing a mobile website can be very simple if you are using a responsive template or theme. If your site can automatically detect a device’s screen size and pull up the correct design – whether the site is located under the same domain or redirects to another domain for the mobile version – you’ll be a step ahead of the game.

Keep the same look, simplified. Obviously, with a smaller screen, you are going to need a less complex design. However, that doesn’t mean that you should ditch the design of your desktop site in favor of a white background and only text. Use the same color scheme and a simplified version of your header.

Reduce the amount of text. No one wants to be reading a bunch of tiny words on their smartphone screen, at least not right from the home page. Cut out what isn’t essential. From there, try to explain the essential elements in fewer words.

Add user-friendly elements. Keep in mind that your mobile visitors are probably using a touch screen or a tiny keyboard. So text entry should be minimal: drop-down menus and large search bars will keep those individuals (and their fingers) happy. You should also incorporate a button that will directly call your company, if applicable.

Mobile internet usage will only continue to increase, and like a marketing strategy that doesn’t evolve with its audience, any website that doesn’t seriously consider this will be quickly left in the dust.

Mobile devices are used largely for routine day to day life for various purposes whether to communicate, search or to purchase and it is within arm’s reach 24/7. Don’t you think that this devices which is always on, has a big part in your marketing strategy? It is time to learn how to make mobile marketing part of your routine strategy to gain more.

Before you start, you need to have the strong and targeted database of audience and be sure about the permission to use that within the rules and regulations of the governing body.

To get started, think of everywhere you interact with potential customers:

· Internet
· Advertising
· Your store or office
· Networking
· Events
· Direct Mail
· Phone

Now that you have your list of places where you engage with your customers, compare it to the following six ways of marketing on mobile:

Events
If you have a big sales event, you can remind customers on their mobiles. This will ensure they don’t forget and miss your important event.

QR Codes
QR codes are free and easy to obtain and can be scanned into any Smartphone to access your website. QR codes could be included on your flyers, business cards or advertisements.

Mobile Coupons
A mobile coupon that has an excellent offer and an expiry date will usually win you a sale. If they know the deal expires and they will never again get it at that price, it will usually be enough to prompt them into action. If there is a convenient way to pay, even better.

Most Smartphones have payment processors built into them.

Text Offers
This is different from mobile coupons in that it is just text – no codes, no graphics. Just a spur-of-the-moment offer if you need more sales for the day.

Price Comparisons
It is easy to compare prices from different places on the mobile to make sure you’re getting the best deal. To stop your customers from doing that, give it to them yourself. Send them a text comparing your price to two or three other competitors, and win the sale.

Snap and Share
Encourage your customers to take pictures of your products and share with others. Most smartphones can also share on social media like Twitter and Facebook. This way you can get extra sales from referrals. Make it into a contest if you want.

Anything you want your customers to fill out on the mobile device needs to be superfast and user-friendly. Long and drawn out is difficult on the mobile. Make it easy for them.

More and more, people are using mobile marketing because it works. You have direct contact with your customer 24/7 which he or she will welcome if you aren’t sending messages too often.

Do mobile device produces same search results as the one provided by laptop or computer using your normal internet connection?

Answer is NO!! Mobile devices have different results and that is why Mobile Marketing is next big thing for your products or services.

But how can you achieve that? This is something similar your other online Marketing campaign, you need to spread your message as you do for other techniques. Essential thing is to get the Expert Service Provider.

Here are 15 steps you can take to ensure a successful campaign:

1. The same as with other marketing media, you should start with deciding what your goals and objectives are; what you want to achieve. Plan for mobile – don’t just use a campaign that was developed for another media.

2. Understand the people you’re targeting, what their needs are and why they will buy.

3. Decide which action you want your customers to take. Mobile marketing is highly interactive allowing you to engage with them. Make sure your customers feel engaged.

4. Do try something new because mobile marketing is a relatively new field. Dare to be different. Yes, there always is the possibility of failure, but at least you will know what doesn’t work.

5. Don’t use it because it is technology and new. Make sure it is a well thought out advertising campaign.

6. Keep it simple. Make sure any customer can repeat your offer to another prospect in one sentence or less. All winning campaigns are simple.

7. Target several niches for maximum effect. To call your campaign effective, you need to target all your customers – do not exclude anyone.

8. Make sure your messages are relevant to ensure maximum engagement. If your messages aren’t relevant, they will not engage your customer.

9. You need a clear call to action so your customers know what to do. If they are unclear on the next step to take, you will lose them.

10. Don’t forget about your brand. You need to keep the brand in customers’ minds to build loyalty to your brand.

11. Make sure you use the opportunities that are unique to mobile, such as location-based services and text campaigns. Also offer content that is exclusive to mobile so you don’t alienate your PC readers.

12. Look for evidence that your campaign was a success and that you have achieved a return on your investment. This is, after all, why you created the campaign.

13. Is your presentation up to scratch? If not, you may lose some customers for whom this is important.

14. Don’t forget to test everything first to make sure it looks good.

15. Test results so you know what to avoid or concentrate on in future.

Mobile marketing is the trend of the future and, if you know how to use it to sell and generate leads, your business will grow.

While all of these are part of the cornucopia for successful placement, the ultimate ranking factor is website content relevancy.

It’s Not What You Say, But How You Say It

Relevant content can’t help but rank well when it is written in a way that reflects the website’s core message. Yes, even a brand new domain, without being stuffed with any keywords at all, can rank well if its content is relevant for the desired keyword terms, phrases and their alternates. It’s not what you say, but how you say it.

Focusing on the use of terms and phrases that accurately describe the products and services offered goes a lot further than you may think. It’s what helps a website rank. Any old content can be thrown together and quickly slapped online but, if a search query doesn’t trigger it, the content is deemed not relevant for that query. To rank for desired keyword terms and phrases, relevancy is key.

An example: A repair shop specializes in unique building tools, such as hammers. The content on the main page of the shop’s website should be about just that and nothing more. Don’t talk about screwdrivers too. That belongs on another page with its own set of meta data to satisfy the visitor and the search spider. As this peculiar work goes much deeper and is more involved than this very simplistic example, it is at the core of optimization for first-page ranking.

Sites that are missing from Page 1 of the search results are simply not optimized to be there. Content built around the keywords, as well as being specific about and focused on the message to be conveyed is what makes all the dots connect. In addition, the written text must be coherent and make sense to the reader. Otherwise the message and the potential client will be lost.

What About Meta Tags?

Again, there are many theories and disagreements about meta tags but, in my experience, making full use of them increases the chances of great placement on search results pages. Not using them leaves out information the search bots can use to properly index the site. Not only must content be relevant to rank, the source page should be spider-friendly as well. That’s where having properly written meta data comes in.

Meta data gives the spiders (bots) information on how to index a website. Bots should be able to flow easily through the page’s source code unimpeded, finding everything relevant and in order. Even brand new domains can be quickly indexed and ranked when the content and meta data are relevant to each other.

What About SEO Software?

Another tool is the use of optimization software. However, the software doesn’t write content, a real person does. If the writing is not relevant, SEO software will not fix it. Optimizing badly written copy only results in bad copy optimized for the back page of search results.

I’ve seen this with my own two eyes — a potential client insists on using software to optimize, but can’t figure out why the company website is invisible and not showing up on the search results.

Further research revealed the culprit. The site had no relevant content and the trusty SEO software was listed in the source code to lend an air of credibility.

When one knows the ropes of pure organic white hat, there’s no need for SEO software. In some circles, it is considered the same thing as cheating. Such software is never used in my work for clients. It just isn’t needed.

In conclusion, I submit that website content relevancy is a greater factor for high ranking and placement on the search results. Without it, Page 1 could remain as elusive as hidden treasure, relegating a site to the annals of the search engine’s back pages.

Many of your customers or potential customers are likely on at least a few social networking sites. By including social media in your marketing campaign, you can dramatically expand the reach of your business with these simple tips:

• Make it simple for visitors to sign up for your e-mail subscription. E-mail newsletters are sort of a dinosaur, but it can be used as a tool to push subscribers to your social media updates.

• If you want to be the best possible contact in a social media setting, you ought to talk to your customers one-on-one whenever possible. Your customers are not interested in speaking with a large company. Consumers have more faith in companies that give them one-on-one attention.

• Your Twitter username should reflect the company you represent, be easy to remember and include your important SEO keywords. Don’t put a lot of numbers in your username, because people won’t remember it well and might accidentally go to another page.

• High-quality content is the most important way to attract potential customers to your website. Consider writing “how-to” guides on subjects of interest, or providing engaging conversation about your chosen product.

• Review a favorite product, and add images to keep it lively. If you give them useful, high-quality content, your visitors will be more likely to share it which, in turn, will increase your audience.

• If you want to market your site, always think about who you want to reach. If just one person has one suggestion, many others do, too. Let them know you hear their concerns.

• Always make sure you write down what progress you have made. Compare your progress, including number of followers per week and number of conversions, to industry standards to see how you are doing. Try linking these figures to your actions and pinpoint the best decisions you have made to develop better strategies. You have to keep track of all of your results to know what is working and what is not.

• Make your headlines irresistible. Most of the time, the headlines are the only thing people notice about posts on social sites. Therefore, your headline should grab the readers’ attention and entice them to read more. A powerful headline can have a significant impact on the visibility of your post.

• If no one goes to your profile, you will not be a success with social media marketing. Take some time to plann, write and then proofread your content to ensure it is engaging and informative. Try adding headlines that will capture people’s interest as a way to finish off.

• Social media requires you remain professional when marketing your business. Be cautious about sharing personal information on any social media website. Avoid responding to negative or argumentative posts and delete posts and comments you find offensive. When interacting with friends, you should create a separate profile in your name.

• Your social media profile can be used to bring customers to your retail store or to direct them to your products online. Give them information about discounts you have to offer, or new locations. You can also have coupons available only on your pages. You have to give people a real reason to add and promote you on these sites.

• To boost your followers, try a giveaway. For people to qualify, have them sign up on your Facebook page or, on Twitter, have them follow you. Any popular social site will do. No matter what the prizes are, you’ll be gaining a lot of exposure.

• Syndication of content is built into Facebook through feeds, making it easy for followers to share your posts. If someone comments on one of your posts, something will appear in this person’s feed for all their friends to see.

Encourage followers to communicate online with you, and among themselves, to enhance your exposure.

• Throw a party on Twitter. Schedule a specific time to use a particular hashtag to talk about an issue with your customers. Have bloggers come to the chat and help solve customers’ problems. Your goal is to attract bloggers and users who can present the information to others in a provocative and appealing manner.

• Hosting a photography contest relevant to your brand is an opportunity to engage your subscribers of social media. The prize can go to the customer who enters the most creative picture that features your brand. Inevitably, entrants will also share their photos on their networking pages, increasing the visibility of your brand two-fold.

Apply the tips from this article to assist you in developing the fundamentals of your business, through social media marketing. It’s not as difficult as you might think to advertise using social media; trust that you can succeed at it.
